Cross-stitch pattern Printing Toile de Jouy

This cross stitch pattern chart represents wood block printing of Toile de Jouy. It comes from the large pattern chart created by Frédérique Crestin-Billet evoking the history of Toile de Jouy at the Oberkampf manufactory. If red is the predominant colour that comes to mind when thinking about the character Toile de Jouy prints, they can also be interpreted in blue, violet, bronze and brown. You will find all the indications you need on the pattern chart if you wish to embroider this pattern in another colour.
Size of motif: 161 x 127 points.
If sewn on 12 count embroidery linen with 2cm around the motif, you will need a piece of linen measuring 30.8 x 25.2cm.
This full-colour pattern chart is printed on a large A3 sheet of paper. It comes with another sheet “interpreting the stitches”. To get as close as possible to a “fabric effect”, you should follow certain instructions. It is presented in a Sajou folder.
To respect the traditional Toile de Jouy cloth, this motif should be sewn on off-white embroidery linen. To embroider in traditional red tones, you will need the following in Retors de Nord embroidery floss: 2033 x 2, 2447 x 2, 2469 x 2.
