Cross stitch kit - Tinctorial Plants and Flowers - Museums and Heritage Collection
This is the complete embroidery kit presented in a lovely box containing everything you need to sew the large cross stitch pattern on tinctorial plants created by Frederique Crestin-Billet. The fourth subject in the Museums and Heritage series, dedicated to the discovery of the history of the French textile industry. The link between flowers and textile? Well, flowers were used to dye them! It is such a vast subject that it would be impossible to cover all the plants used for textile dyeing. This evocation is just a great excuse to propose some beautiful flowers to embroider.
Size of motif: 345 x 345 points. When embroidered on 12 count/centimeter linen fabric the finished dimensions are 57.5 x 57.5cm.
This pattern chart measures 68 x 80cm, making the motifs easy to follow. It is printed on matt paper, enabling you to mark any reference points you may need. Apart from botanical details about the plants, the back of this chart contains all the necessary explanations for the embroidery and ribbons. The ribbons not only give a whimsical touch to the embroidery, but also show a sample of the colours obtained by each flower.
This kit contains:
the large 68 x 80cm double-sided Tinctorial Plants poster;
35 cards of Retors du Nord embroidery thread in 32 colours: 2003, 2005, 2012 x 2, 2013 x 3, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2026, 2028, 2032, 2034, 2038, 2039, 2042, 2223, 2317, 2332, 2350, 2405, 2409, 2443, 2445, 2529, 2532, 2535, 2540, 2567, 2615, 2749 and 2876;
