Cross-stitch chart Sajou History 1848-1882

This cross stitch project represents the years when Maison Sajou moved to rue Rambuteau where they remained from 1848 to 1882.
After three years on the Ile de la Cité (subject of the second pattern chart), Jacques-Simon Sajou moved back to the 3rd arrondissement in the rue Rambuteau, created a few years before by the Prefect of the same name (the number 50 would later be changed to 52). In 1848, Mr Sajou was 43 years old. He married Astasie Granger in 1840, the niece of the painter Jean-Pierre Granger. In 1864 Monsieur Sajou withdrew from his business which he left to his brother in law, Claude Marie Cabin, husband to Astasie’s sister.
The Sajou represented here is the one that appears on the green albums, which is why it is embroidered in 2019 and 2876, the Sajou blue.

This cross stitch pattern is part of a series of six which traces the history of Sajou from 1842 through the relaunch in 2005. Part of the Museums and Heritage collection, it's derived from the large poster chart dedicated to the history of Maison Sajou.

Size of motif: 90 x 90 points.
It's printed in colours on a A3 format and presented in a Sajou folder.
