Maison Sajou 20 créations à coudre et à broder
Maison Sajou is extremely proud of this new book, the idea of a British editor!
The author, Lucinda Ganderton is a famous British designer who has published many craft books.
A big fan of Maison Sajou, Lucinda Ganderton has created twenty ideas using a variety of different stitches for a collection of projects: a cushion with a delightful hare embroidery, beach bag, evening pouch, great ideas for tidies and pencil holders....
Each project is accompanied by 2 pages of inspirations, for example, the vegetable table cloth, inspired by the Potager Du Roi, just around the corner from Maison Sajou.
All the explanations for stitching and mounting are clearly explained and illustrated by delightful water colour sketches which add a whole new dimension of charm to the book. The beginning of the book goes over the material and basic techniques. The preface is signed by Frédérique Crestin-Billet.
Here is the text from the back cover: For many years a byword for pretty and refined French taste, the esteemed haberdashery Maison Sajou supplies the most discerning home sewers
with their linens, embroidery silks and patterns, as well as a mouthwatering selection
of sewing equipment, from embroidery scissors to needles, thimbles and thread cards.
The Maison Sajou Sewing Book brings that sophisticated sensibility to twenty beautiful projects. Bedlinen, tablecoths, cushions and smaller but equally gorgeous accessories,
as such as book covers and lavender hearts, all acquire French style with simple
but lovely embroidery, neatly stitched monograms and some all-but-forgotten
(but easily learned) techniques, such as drawn threadwork.
