The Empress Josephine was so passionate about roses that she assembled an impressive collection in the Malmaison Chateau. She went as far as to sew them on her dresses. This fabric represents watercolour interpretations of the roses with their indicative names: Souvenir de Joséphine, Empress Josephine, Redouté’s Proliferation, Belle Hélène, Souvenir Malmaison… The roses are quite large, 10cm on average. The ecru base of the fabric is the natural cotton colour.

We recommend the following threads with this fabric: polyester n°309 or 538 or, if you prefer cotton, n°6272 or 6573.
A lot of our fabrics are also available in 3-swatch gift boxes and individual swatches 50 x 70cm. We also have a complete cross stitch kit so you can embroider the roses with a border.
