This spectacular pair of embroidery scissors represents two gracious swans back to back. The handles are made from imitation mother of pearl, a material which was often used in the past for delicate sewing items. The difference with the vintage models is that ours are more solid and extremely light, making them a joy to use.

Sajou stamp on the upper blade.
The pompom on these scissors has a small medallion with a hollowed-out "S" in the same material as the scissors. They are presented in a small box, with a design that may vary according to our stock. A label on the inside cover explains the manufacturing process.
These scissors, including the pompom, are entirely MADE IN FRANCE.
It should be pointed out that it takes a dozen qualified people to make each pair.
An important detail for judging the quality of a pair of scissors lies in the pairing marks - the number engraved on the inside of each blade. You will notice the number "7" on the photos presented here. This unique number on each pair indicates that the two parts have been adjusted from the very first assembly stage to form a perfectly matched pair. After this initial fitting, the scissors are disassembled for each blade to undergo necessary treatments before being reassembled and finished.
In the 19th century, producing such embroidery scissors required the craftsmanship of a cutler for the steel blades and an ornamental turner for the mother-of-pearl work. Today, the process is similar: the steel blades are crafted by a master cutler, while the handles are produced in our own workshops.
