This pair of gilded embroidery scissors represent a hare. They are entirely hand-made. The process of aurifying involves placing a varnish over the parts which will not be golden. This explains the difference in price between the chromed hare scissors and these ones. Notice the detail of the animals' fur, its' eyes, its' ears.... as well as the quality of the screw. The blades are very pointed for precision work.
Size: 10cm. Small Sajou ribbon on handle, colour may vary. Our scissors are presented in a Sajou box. A label on the inside cover explains the manufacturing process.
An important detail enables us to judge the quality of a pair of scissors; the pairing marks - the number which you can see on the interior of each of the blades( you will notice the number 55 on the photos presented here, but it also can be a mark made with an awl). This number is different on each pair of scissors and indicates that both parts have been paired together from the first assemblage to make a perfect match. After the first fitting, the scissors are taken apart and each shear undergoes the different processing operations before being reassembled and finished.
