This cross stitch embroidery kit evokes the last address of the original Maison Sajou at 53 rue La Boétie where they closed their doors in 1954.
In 1897, Maison Sajou is directed by the son in law of Georges Lefèvre, Emmanuel Anglard, who became the owner in 1902.
With a strong military background (many campaigns in Tonkin), this energetic man was heavily involved in the great exhibitions of the time and obtained many prizes, notably in Milan (1906), Brussels (1910), London (1912), Ghent (1913)…
In 1934 when Emmanuel Anglard is 61 years old, Sajou moved to rue de la Boétie.
This is the interpretation of the Sajou logo on the beige tapestry albums. It is the same that I used for the red album series, a colour that never existed in the vintage Sajou albums.
This cross stitch kit is part of a series of six which traces the history of Sajou from 1842 through the relaunch in 2005. Part of the Museums and Heritage collection, it's derived from the large poster chart dedicated to the history of Maison Sajou.
Size of motif: 90 x 90 points.
This embroidery kit contains:
- one natural 12 count linen piece 20 x 20 cm,
- two Retors du Nord embroidery floss n°2838 and n°2876,
- a colourfull pattern chart printed on a A3 format.
Presented in a transparent sachet with a Sajou header.
The pattern chart is also available here.
