Bonnes Herbes Cushion - Motif 1 - Museums and Heritage Collection
We are offering the opportunity to acquire a unique and numbered piece of this embroidered and assembled cushion, part of our Museums and Heritage Collection.
This embroidery is inspired by the famous “Bonnes Herbes” motifs, a lasting success of the Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf manufactory, founded in 1760 in Jouy-en-Josas. These fabrics were printed using wooden plates on bases called “ramoneur” (chimney sweep), due to their dark tones — black, brown, or bronze. Featuring lush floral and botanical patterns, these fabrics were not, as is often thought, exclusive to the Provence region.
- Size of this cross-stitch embroidered cushion: 31 x 22cm.
This piece represents approximately 50 hours of embroidery. - Embroidered on 12-count black linen and lined with one of our indienne fabrics.
- This cushion comes stuffed with an inner white cover.
- The back features a Sajou label and the number 9, making it unique.
- This embroidery is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, sealed with wax and signed by Frédérique Crestin-Billet, Madame Sajou.
- Presented in a beautiful lined indienne fabric pouch, tailor-made for this embroidery.
