TBK are the initials of Thomas Bohier and his wife, Katherine Briçonnet. The motto of the château, “If I manage to build Chenonceau, I shall be remembered” shows the magnitude of the construction.
Katherine Briçonnet played a key role in the architectural choices, whilst her husband was in Italy alongside François I.
The coat of arms and motto can be found on the entrance to the Château, whilst the initials can be found in many of the rooms inside.
This project is derived from the large Museums and Heritage pattern chart dedicated to the Chenonceau Château.
This full-colour pattern chart is printed on a large A3 sheet with all necessary explanations.
It is presented folded in a Sajou folder.
With this pattern chart, you can make a cushion measuring 30.3 x 20.3cm when embroidered on 12 count (per cm) linen.
The pattern consists of 182 stitches width and 122 stitches height.
We recommend our moss embroidery linen which enhances the details of the motif.
You will also need two cards of our Retors du Nord embroidery thread: 2570 and 2876.
This project is also available as a kit, including the backing fabric.
