Elastic shirring spool Gold

Elastic thread for shirring, colour gold.
Length of thread: 10m
Size of spool: height 5.5cm, diametre 2cm.
This thread is made from an elastane core wrapped with a cotton thread, a technique known as gimped thread.
The natural fibres used in this thread enable it to be washed and ironed without losing elasticity.
Attention: the silver and gold spools contain 10m of thread, all the others have 20m.
Winding elastic threads is a delicate operation as the threads must be slightly tautened. This tautness is estimated at 20%.
Available in 23 colours, this thread known as Lastex is from the Lebaufil brand, a French company specialising in elastic threads since 1946. It was taken over by Ets Toulemonde in December 2015.
