This is an interpretation of the motif covering the walls of the François I lounge on the ground floor of the Chenonceau Château. It is a reminder that the king was a frequent guest of Katherine Briçonnet who, with her husband, was at the origin of the construction of the edifice.
This project is derived from the large Museums and Heritage pattern chart dedicated to the Chenonceau Château.
This full-colour pattern chart is printed on a large A3 sheet with all necessary explanations. It is presented folded in a Sajou folder.
You can make a cushion measuring 30.8 x 21.7cm with this pattern chart, or use the repeat motif for a smaller or larger project.
The repeat motif is 50 x 51 stitches which gives a size of 8.3 x 8.5cm when embroidered on 12 count (per cm) linen.
To calculate how much fabric you will need, simply multiply the dimensions.
We recommend using our mustard colour linen fabric, which enhances the motif.

You will also need seven colours of our Retors du Nord embroidery floss 2022, 2023, 2028, 2032, 2196, 2266 and 2340.
This project is also available as a kit with all you need including the backing fabric.
