Treat Yourself to Embroideries Created by Sajou!

Since the creation of Maison Sajou - which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in May 2025 - we have received numerous requests to purchase our fully finished embroideries. Until now, we hadn’t pursued this idea, as it required significant time, organisation, and preparation.
We also wanted each piece to be truly unique, with its own number and carefully crafted presentation.

Finally, we decided that our twentieth anniversary was the perfect opportunity to launch our gallery!

Like an art gallery, the "exhibition" will evolve over time. New pieces will be added, while sold works will only become available again after a certain delay.
And, as in any gallery, you will find creations at all price points — from simple designs to the most sophisticated ones.

The Museums and Heritage Collection

Each theme in the Museums and Heritage Collection includes a "main" embroidery,
which serves as the inspiration for many other creations, often simpler, such as cushions or our small round boxes.

Large Sajou embroideries from the Museums and Heritage Collection

All these works are designed by Frédérique Crestin-Billet, Madame Sajou.
In our gallery, the most elaborate embroideries are offered as unique pieces, while more accessible models may sometimes be available in several copies.

Unique and Numbered Embroideries

The most intricate embroideries feature a unique number sewn onto the back.
This number is also recorded on the certificate of authenticity, sealed with wax, dated, and signed by Frédérique Crestin-Billet on the day of shipping.
Each embroidery is carefully presented in a custom-made, lined fabric pouch, crafted by our in-house seamstress.
Needless to say, all embroideries are stitched using Maison Sajou threads and fabrics.

and a large poster detailing the historical background of the piece.

Simpler pieces come with a dated and signed certificate of authenticity (without wax seal) and are typically presented in an elegant Sajou box.
Specific details are provided in each product description: See all embroideries available in the Sajou Gallery.

Exceptional Craftsmanship

The large embroideries from the Museums and Heritage Collection require between 200 and 300 hours of embroidery, depending on the design.
Cushions, depending on their complexity, take between 50 and 90 hours to complete, sometimes even more for the most spectacular pieces.

Although these pieces are not embroidered in France - which would make their price five to six times higher - they are lovingly crafted in an embroidery workshop in Vietnam, with which Frédérique Crestin-Billet has collaborated for several decades. This workshop, renowned for the quality of its work and respect for its embroiderers, contributed to many of Frédérique’s embroidery books written in the 1990s, long before she became Madame Sajou.

For the past 20 years, most of the prototypes for our kits — displayed in our Versailles boutique — have been embroidered in this same workshop.
