The cross stitch patterns and embroidery motifs
Abbreviations on the cross stitch patterns and embroidery motifs:
- SP refers to Laine Saint-Pierre, which is in 4 separable strands,
- RN refers to Retors du Nord, which is in 4 separable strands,
- TK refers to our Tonkin thread, in 4 separable strands containing a strip of lurex,
- Or refers to the reel of metallized thread in old gold.
Useful details:
- Don’t be afraid of using this thread. It is great to use and doesn’t fray like some other threads.
- The number of strands to use is indicated on each pattern.
- The box contains a piece of Solufix, which makes the embroidery motifs easy to sew.
- On the Farandole Alsacienne fabric, the numbers in brackets after each stitch correspond to the numbers on the explanatory sheet. However, these are just indicative and the fun part of this calendar is to add your own personal touch by giving way to your imagination.

Fabrics used: this pouch is embroidered on our Farandole Alsacienne fabric and lined with the coordinating fabric.

The two stems of the garland are embroidered in stem stitch (2) with two strands of Laine Saint-Pierre 210. - The Alsatian lady’s hair and camisole are sewn in straight stitches (3) with two strands of Laine Saint-Pierre 387,
Her shawl in close straight stitch (3) with two strands of Laine Saint-Pierre 868,

- The saddle on the horse is outlined with fringe stitch (4) using two strands of Laine Saint-Pierre 360.
- The buttons on the boy’s jacket are sewn in French knots (3) using one strand of Laine Saint-Pierre 180, his socks are sewn in straight stitch (6) using two strands of Tonkin 1020.
- The second heart on the garland is embroidered in chain stitch (5) using one strand of Laine Saint-Pierre 210.

- The shawl and the blouse on the first lady is sewn in straight stitch (5) using two strands of Laine Saint-Pierre with 878 and 360,
