Here is a selection of boxes that you can make during the cartonnage classes with Hélène Chalendard-Chireux. Attention: apart from the first class (see box number one below), you will need to cut the cardboard pieces yourself before attending the class. Once you have registered for the class and chosen which model you wish to make, please contact us (contact@sajou.fr)so we can send you the instruction sheet with all the necessary information.
BOX NUMBER ONE
Groove box, which is for the first class you will take with Hélène.
This box is perfect for learning her special cartonnage techniques.
Exceptionally, for this first box, the kit with pre-cut cardboard is supplied
(15€ to pay on arrival).
You will also need 30cm of fabric width 1.10m for the exterior and 30cm by 1.10m for the interior.
You can also customise the centre of the lid (5.5cm square in the middle).
The fabrics shown on this photo are available at the Sajou store.
BOX NUMBER TWO
Rectangular box with removable compartments and articulated lid. It can be made in a day if you have already followed at least one of Hélène’s classes. You will need 60cm of fabric and 40cm of coordinate both with a width of 1.10m. You will also need 50cm of 1cm wide ribbon.
You can find all of these in the Sajou Paris store during your class.
BOX NUMBER THREE
Box with drawer and articulated lid. It can be made in a day
if you have already followed at least one of Hélène’s classes.
You will need 70cm of fabric and 25cm of coordinate both with a width of 1.10m.
You will also need 30cm of 1cm wide ribbon.
BOX NUMBER FOUR
Square box with articulated padded lid with inlay on the inside.
The interior compartments are removable and repositionable.
It can be made in a day if you have already followed at least one of Hélène’s classes.
You will need 70cm of fabric with a width of 70cm and 30cm of coordinate plus 30cm of ribbon.
You will also need something for the inlay.
BOX NUMBER FIVE
Rectangular box with articulated, scalloped, paned lid. Inside is a removable tray.
You will need 40cm of printed fabric for the lid and exterior of box,
30cm for the interior and 30cm for the tray, all in 1.10m width.
You will also need 30cm of ribbon and a small pane of glass 22 x 19cm.
BOX NUMBER SIX
Small rectangular sewing box with elastics on the inside lid for your needle booklets and other small accessories. Also with a removable tray.
You will need 40cm of printed fabric for the lid and box exterior, 30cm of another fabric for the inside and bottom, and 30cm of a thord fabric for the tray and inside the cover.
You will also need 30cm of ribbon.
The fabric used here is the Sajou Ma Belle Ville de Paris and two coordinates.
If you have a bit of experience, it is possible to make this box in one day.
BOX NUMBER SEVEN
Small case with handle. It can be made in a day if you have already followed one of Hélène’s classes.
You will need three times 30cm of fabric with 1.10m width.
BOX NUMBERS EIGHT AND NINE
Below on the left, small workshop box with a spool display and three small drawers.
On the right, scallop-edged box with two drawers, pin cushion and spool holder.
Two consecutive classes are necessary for each of these projects.
Once you have assisted at a first class with Hélène, she can propose many other projects
to suit your level and tastes.
