Cross stitch kit - The Pledge of Bayeux - Museums and Heritage Collection

This complete cross stitch kit comes from the large pattern chart created by Frédérique Crestin-Billet evoking famous Bayeux Tapestry. It represents The Pledge of Bayeux, episode which is not on the large pattern chart.
Size of motif: 268 points 67 points. If sewn on 12 count embroidery linen: 45cm x 11,5cm.
The action takes place after the attacks on Rennes and Dinan, William and two knights head for Bayeux, the episcopal city of his half-brother, Odo.The town is symbolised by a castle on a mound which can be reached by a bridge.The following scene is at Bayeux: Duke William is represented on his throne holding his sword pointing upwards. Facing him, Harold takes an oath on two reliquaries placed on a stand decorated with draperies. By this pledge, Harold swears loyalty to William and promises him the throne of England upon Edward’s death. We know that this will not happen and Harold will nevertheless be crowned King of England.
This kit contains:
  • full-colour pattern chart printed on a large 60cm x 29cm sheet of paper;
  • one 70 x 25cm piece of 32 count embroidery linen, colour sand;
  • 10 Laine Saint-Pierre cards in following colours: 422 x 3 - 450 x 2 - 648 x 2 - 814 x 1 - 845 x 1 - 930 x 1;
