This cross stitch pattern chart represents a famous toile de Jouy called Coquecigrues, a fantasy animal supposed to be formed of a cockerel, a crane and a stork. These floral motif fabrics are called indiennes or chintz and are less well-known than the character Jouy prints.
It comes from the large pattern chart created by Frédérique Crestin-Billet evoking the history of Toile de Jouy at the Oberkampf manufactory.
This full-colour pattern chart is printed on a large 60cm x 29cm sheet of paper. The motif is repetitive and can be embroidered as many time as you wish.
Dimension of the motif: 210 x 144 points - 35 x 24cm.
To calculate the dimension of fabric necessary, multiply the above dimensions by the number of repetitions you wish to sew in width and height.
To respect the spirit of the original indiennes clothes, we recommend you sew this motif on off white 32 count embroidery linen.
It is presented in a Sajou folder.
To embroider this motif, you will need the following Retors du Nord embroidery floss: 2005, 2007, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2028, 2033, 2034, 2038, 2302, 2332, 2536, 2749 and 2876.
This pattern chart contains a large motif which reproduces the original cloth. Another pattern chart offers a repeat motif. Also available: two pattern charts for Bonnes Herbes.
This motif can also be found on our Coquecigrues motif round box to embroider model.
