Needle point tapestry
Tapestry kits and charts to stitch on mono canvas
Petit point (also known as the basketweave stitch) is stitched on mono canvas using Laine Saint-Pierre if you’re looking for a classic, matte finish typical of traditional needlepoint. For a shinier and more original result, you can use our Retors du Nord embroidery thread, using four strands.
Petit point is stitched diagonally, which reinforces the fabric and helps prevent distortion. It is often said that more thread lies on the back than on the front of the canvas.
In our embroidery blog, Madame Sajou’s Diary, you’ll find all the information you need to get started.
If you enjoy small and creative projects, discover our puffies kits: charming decorative items to stitch on canvas and assemble with padding. A lovely way to explore needlepoint differently, with varied shapes and uses.
In Madame Sajou’s Diary, read the article about our puffies and how to assemble them.
