Traditional thimbles for dressmakers

Discover our collection of dressmaker’s thimbles, where tradition and elegance meet. Among our models:

All our thimbles are presented in charming little cardboard boxes, perfect for protecting them or offering them as gifts.

The production of a metal thimble involves several precise and delicate steps:

  • the process begins with a strip of steel or other metals, between 0.4 and 1 millimetre thick depending on the final size of the thimble,
  • the strip is placed in a stamping press, where punches shape the rounded parts, giving the thimble its basic form,
  • additional presses refine the shape of the thimble’s top, ensuring perfect curvature,
  • decorative patterns, grooves, or even a size number are engraved using sharp rollers,
  • finally, each thimble is carefully polished and treated to prevent oxidation caused by perspiration during use.

This meticulous process ensures thimbles of the highest quality, both functional and aesthetically pleasing, suitable for both hobbyists and professional seamstresses.
