Metal press fasteners

Press fasteners, also called snap buttons, popper buttons, press stud were invented around 1850, at a time when buttons were not widespread. They did not add much to the deco- ration of a costume but had the advantage of being cheap and practical. Some were available on ribbons with fasteners every 3cm for sewing on dresses and blouses. Press-fasteners were presented on cards, which followed the fashion of the times.Here we offer a vintage-style collection of press fasteners.
