This touching scene of a little girl mending her doll under the watchful eye of her dog originally appeared on a simple cardboard sewing box from the 1950s. Frédérique Crestin-Billet, Madame Sajou, discovered it at a flea market, long before the creation of Sajou, at a time when she loved searching through antique fairs and flea markets to expand her collection of haberdashery items. While the illustrator’s name remains unknown, Maison Sajou has paid tribute by adapting this charming illustration across several of its creations. Depending on the product, it is sometimes accompanied by the word “Mercerie” (haberdashery), the original title, or “Couture” (Sewing).
